Village

Ages Newborn -18 months

Kindermusik Village is a class designed to provide families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. Village will educate you about your baby’s unique development, and each rich class experience fills baby’s senses. We’ll hammock, dance, explore drums, snuggle during a lullaby, shake bells, play with puppets, and peek-a-boo with scarves. The activities are full of developmentally appropriate movement and play that are a fun and special way to spend time with your baby. Village will bring you closer to your baby and enhance developmental growth in extraordinary ways.

Our Time

Ages 18 months -3 1/2 years

Kindermusik Our Time is a class where children, along with a parent or caregiver, enjoy singing, moving, listening, interacting socially, and playing instruments. We’ll introduce basic musical concepts such as steady beat, melodic patterning and tempo variation through dancing, bouncing, and playing with shakers, drums, puppets, balls, parachute, streamers and more! Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building self-control, coordination and communication skills. With you by her side, she’ll learn to be confident and secure in her physical surroundings.

Imagine That!

3 years - 5 years

Kindermusik Imagine That! is a class for your preschooler, taking you and your child on a musical journey of discovery and exploration…a journey limited only by the power of imagination! Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture your child’s potential to learn and to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality. Imagine That! encourages socialization, sharing, and participation in group activities. All family members and caregivers attend the special Family Sharing Time during the last 10 minutes of class.

Young Child

4 years - 6 years

Kindermusik Young Child is a weekly, 60 minute class designed for children ages 5 through 7 years that provides a pressure-free, developmentally appropriate transition to musically succeed before taking on more formal instruction. Students explore many facets of the musical experience – speaking, singing, moving, dancing, listening, creating and playing instruments, as well as learning about reading and writing music. Your child will also gain experience with authentic pre-keyboard, string and woodwind instruments. Young Child helps every child develop a confident, joyful voice for singing and speaking as well as essential building blocks for a future of learning.

WHAT WILL WE DO IN CLASS AND WHY?

Singing fosters the development of your child's most important instrument, the voice, through vocal exploration, songs, and chants.

Moving develops body awareness, coordination, and spatial relationships through synchronized movement, creative movement, and simple dances.

Playing introduces a variety of musical timbres with percussion instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingle bells, drums, resonator bars, and simple instruments your child creates at home.

Creating stimulates your child's imagination and encourages new exploration with sound and movement.
Patterning boosts your child's ability to think musically through the integration of basic rhythmic and tonal language.

Listening cultivates your child's heightened attentiveness to sound discrimination.

Exploring timbre, dynamics, tempo, and pitch lays the foundation for conceptualization of the elements of music.

Young Child begins learning notes and individual instruments 1st year Glockenspiel 2nd year Dulcimer & Recorder.
